Biotin

Maintains hair and nails in good condition

Biotin (Vitamin B8) is necessary for the effective functioning of enzymes

that carry carboxyl units and fix carbon dioxide. It is essential for various

metabolic functions, including gluconeogenesis, lipogenesis, fatty acid

biosynthesis, metabolism of propionate and catabolism of branched-

chain amino acids.

In poor nutritional status, stress or seasonal change, nutritional deficiency

in the cells that compose the root of the hair and nails can cause weak-

ness or even hair loss. The biotin metabolic functions act as a revitalizing

and fortifying factor in these cells, giving strength and improving their ap-

pearance.

Biotin deficiency can manifest as acne, seborrheic eczema, acrodynia (al-

teration that often occurs in childhood and is characterized by pain in the

extremities, tachycardia, vasomotor and sweating), brittle nails, erythro-

derma (skin disorder mainly characterized by redness) or exfoliative dermatitis.

Indication
