Salicylic acid is used topically. It diminishes acne by reducing swelling and redness, it prevents the appearance of pimples, blackheads and other imperfections of acne-prone skin. It opens the clogged skin pores, allowing the pimples to dry.
It has comedolytic, keratolytic,sebaceous regulatory and antiinflammatory properties. Moreover, its application stimulates skin renewal by removing dead cells and impurities trapped in the pilosebaceous ducts. This helps to smooth out fine wrinkles, improve skin colour and reduce acne scars and damage caused by UV and environmental factors (cold, heat, pollution) on the skin.
