The L-Carnitine is an oligopeptide consisting of two essential amino acids, lysine and methionine, which act as a natural constituent of cells

and develop a role in the use of lipids on the muscle. It is, indeed, the specific carrier agent of fatty acids across the mitochondrial inner membrane, where the oxidation of these acids takes place. By the way, they represent the main energy source for the myocardium and muscles.
